Gilbert Dashper is buried in a common
grave in the Ford Park Cemetery
in Plymouth Devon,
(in the General section Higher A number
8 row 19).
It is part of the cemetery's grounds policy to allow certain sections
to seed their beautiful wild flowers before cutting. Gilbert's grave is
where summer daisies abound. Another section at the bottom of
the site has a marvellous spring display of bluebells and
primroses. The committee who manage the cemetery also nurture
areas for attracting insects, and for breading insects and birds. The
image is of the setting of Gilbert Dashper's grave rather than the plot
itself, so we can see what a lovely environment it is. The
plot is freehold, and has never been purchased, nor any stone
erected. However the exact location of his final resting place is
known and the area is able to be secured by his present Dashper
descendants. Whether Eliza was also buried here is not yet known.
